Process quality and technology |
-
Corporate India have decided to add 10,000 MW power generation
by 2012 witnessing resurgence of demand for transmission line
towers.
-
Due to enhancement of demand new projects for transmission line
towers expected. This will increase cut throat competition in
the sector.
-
Upsetting factor for manufacturer of transmission line
tower/space frame structures is the spiraling prices input
materials like Zinc and steel affecting adversely the margins as
the raw material components forms about 85% of the sales price.
-
Handling of heavy materials adds to the cost.
-
Present cost of production necessitates introduction of
innovative methods and systems for reduction of wastage,
optimization of handling besides methods improvement in design
and manufacture process.
-
We are undertaking State of art designing of structure so as to
achieve lower weights for transmission and space structures.
Have introduced computer designing to achieve this.
|
 |
-
Have introduced ERP system for proper controls of cost and
reduction of material wastage to optimum level.
-
Have installed a new state of art galvanizing plant to achieve
savings in fuel and Zinc consumption. The plant is equipped with
instrumentation and controls for proper combustion efficiency.
The old plants are also being updated.
-
Innovative material handling system has been introduced along
with improvements in the layout of the plant for optimizing the
material flow reducing the handling cost.
-
Is in the process of introducing regular power audits.
-
We have equipped quality control department, responsible for
controlling the quality in the process stage as well as of the
finished products.
-
Newer methods have been introduced for improving productivity.
